Dayara Bugyal Trek - Walk The Medows
Dayara Bugyal, in spite of its exquisite beauty, is one of the lesser-known treks in India. Bugyal, a Hindi word, refers to the alpine meadows that are at a high altitude of about 12,000 feet. Dayara Bugyal is a short trek of 22 Kms that begins from Rithal as a base camp which is located about 42 km from Uttarkashi.
It is a beautiful village with greenery everywhere you look. The difficulty level of Dayara Bugyal trek is easy to moderate and this makes it a great choice for beginners. On your way to Dyara Bugyal Top, you will be able to catch glimpses of beautiful meadows, views of the Gangotri, Bandarpooch & Black Peak. You will also find a trail that leads to Dodiatal which is a freshwater lake and the origin of the Assi Ganga river.
The highest point of the trek comes at the Dyara Bugyal top which is at a height of 12,100 feet. During the summers the beauty of the green meadows, grassy turfs & snow-clad peaks in a distance makes up for a mesmerizing sight.
In order to reach Dayara Bugyal from Delhi, you need to come to Dehradun and catch a bus to Uttarkashi, from there you need to make your way to Rithal village located 42 km from Uttarkashi which is the base camp for this trek.
The first day of the Dayara Bugiyal Trek begins with a drive to a village called Rithal which is about 42 km away from Uttarkashi. The village is a beautiful location with lush greenery. On your way to Rithal, you will get glimpses of the Shrikanth Peak and Gangotri range.
