Kedarnath Yatra - First step to Char Dham
Kedarnath Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage according to the Hindu religion. The temple is situated in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India and therefore Kedarnath temple is visited by thousands of devotees every year.
Kedarnath, along with being a Holy place, is one of the Char Dham temples (Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri). With a stunning height of 3584 meters above sea level, and therefore Kedarnath Yatra is a magnificent journey to embark on.

Kedarnath town falls near the glacier Chorabari, the top of the Mandakini river.
Kedarnath yatra begins from the Sonprayag town that falls in the district of Rudraprayag in Uttarakhand. This is only 5 km. far away from Gaurikund (the endpoint to reach Kedarnath temple). Reaching Gaurikund, your Kedarnath yatra starts with a paved foot.
Now, the Kedarnath Yatra starts off for the temple with a distance of 14 Km from the Gaurikund. Gaurikund is well connected by roads so you can reach here easily by vehicle (facility available for pilgrims). While passing through the Gaurikund, you get stunned finding a hot spring in the middle of the snow-covered landscape. Taking a bath at this hot spring to go to the Kedarnath temple is known to be good according to Hindu belief.
Once passing the Gaurikund, your journey goes through the Jungle Chatti, Bheembali, and Lichauli. And finally, you reach the Kedarnath base camp that is only 1 km. far from the Kedarnath temple.
The utmost weather condition of Kedarnath allows the temple to be open from April end to the beginning of November. According to Hindu mythology, basically, there are twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva or Kedar, Kedarnath temple is one among them. Now, you can also enjoy the 4G network availability at Kedarnath by BSNL, JIO, and AIRTEL. For visitors having Epass is mandatory to enter Uttarakhand and for Kedarnath as well. You can apply and get done it on-line and also get this Epass by the Sonprayag Yatra pass counter.
You will be picked up from Haridwar and we will be leaving for Guptkashi via Devprayag & Rudraprayag. The drive is filled with scenic beauty of the Himalayas, as we reach Tilwara you will be able to catch the glimpse of the famous Mandakini river which comes down from Kedarnath. We will be driving along the river to reach Guptkashi. Overnight stay at the hotel.

After having breakfast in the morning we will be driving to Gaurikund which is about 30km from Guptkashi and takes almost 2 hours. The trek starts from Gaurikund and is 19km to the Kedarnath Temple. The trek takes around 10 - 12 hours so, after darshan we will be spending the night at a hotel in Kedarnath.

We will be trekking back to Gaurikund today after having breakfast. Upon reaching Gaurikund we will drive back to Guptkashi where you can relax for the day as we will be leaving tomorrow. Stay at Guptkashi.

Today marks the last day of the Kedarnath Yatra. We will be heading back to Haridwar from Guptkashi on the same route we came from. About 220 Km drive is going to take 8 -9 hours of time and you will be dropped at Haridwar.

By Air :-
There is no airport at Hardiwar so, you will have to book a flight to Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. From there you have two options to reach Haridwar:
By Train :-
There are many trains that run from New Delhi to Haridwar Railway Station. You are advised to reach a day before the start date in order to avoid any last minute hassles.
You can also take overnight train from New Delhi to arrvie at Haridwar in the morning.

By Bus:-There is regular bus service from Delhi to Haridwar, from Delhi's ISBT Kashmere Gate.

Note : Normally THE CRAZY MOUNTAINEERS expect to carry your personal luggage on your own, if you wish to offload your backpack, you can give it to Mule.
Charges of offloading backpack:-
The backpack cannot weigh more than 11 kgs. Backpack should have waterproof cover. Suitcases/strolleys/ bags will not be allowed.
In the event of cancellation of trek/adventure activity services due to any avoidable / unavoidable reasons we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges would be as follows: -
Cancellations prior to 24 days from the start of the trek
Book any other trek till one year or get 95% refund (Note: If the trek charges are more, the balance needs to be paid by the trekker)
Cancellation between 24 days and 14 days to the start of the trek
Choose to go for the same trek, with any other batch, till year or get 70% refund
Cancellation between 14 days and 10 days to the start of the trek
Choose to go on the same trek, in the same season, with any other batch or get 50% refund.
Cancellation less than 10 days to the start of the trek
Transfer your trek (same trek, same batch) to your friend. No cash refund.
